Macular Society TV advert

The Macular society have produced a television advert for the first time to hopefully drive funds and awareness to the cause.

It is a brutally honest depiction of what we are facing.
Whether you have macular degeneration due to old age or like me an inherited condition you have had since birth. When that shows itself is individual to the person. Some children, or like me late onset in my 40s.
We need a cure or the very least treatment for genetic macular Dystrophies.

Visual Impairment and social distancing

Hi everyone.
I do hope you are keeping well and safe.
The UK are still in partial lockdown and social distancing is still here for us all.
I’ve come across a article that maybe helpful to some whilst these measures are in place around the world for people out and about with Visual impairment.
It’s extra stressful when in a shop trying to keep away from people and the added factor of having to study items for longer whilst aware not to take too much time in the shop because others are queuing outside waiting for you to exit before they can go in.
Makes you flustered and made me buy yogurt instead of cottage cheese yesterday 😔.
That will be nice on a jacket spud won’t it 😔
