Around the Lake

Well, I’ve tried my Macular Society t-shirt on and it fits, so I’m just packing my bag now to go upto there Thursday.

On Saturday 16th April, (first day) I will start to head for Derwentwater around 6am. This is for my 10 mile hike around the Lake and then into Keswick Town centre through Portinscale.

On the Sunday. I will be going over the top of Latrigg fell and down onto the disused railway tracks back into Keswick Town centre. Approx 5 miles.

Will be going live (hopefully) on my blog (Facebook page)

Also, maybe going live on Twitch… Possibly. This is a free to sign up streaming platform. I signed up a few years ago as Bobby Chump. See what name you can come up with ☺ It has lots of interesting content to watch. Channels from all around the world. Gaming, In real life, just chatting and lots of topics to choose from. Lovely little communities are built, with friends to be made. Please follow my channel to receive notifications when I’m live.

I’m hoping to get a few miles in before I stream. Aiming for 8am depending on the phone reception where I am. I’m going to be in the woods sometimes, near the lake. I’ve got no clue where I’ll be to be honest.

I haven’t done large walks really while back at home to prepare. Although I did around 4 miles and looked after a lost doggo! He was so sweet and I was there for about an hour. I didn’t want him to be scared. He needed a friend. It was nice to spend some time with him and make a fuss, while he kept looking around for his owner. Made me miss my beautiful furry friend so much though 😢

There is still time to donate for this fantastic cause. If you can please do. I will make sure I thank everyone personally as I’m so amazed at how generous people have already been. It will help the Macular Society pay for research into macula conditions and hopefully find treatment or a cure for us. 🤗

Talk Talk – My Talking watch

I’ve just put on my talking watching again from the RNIB (Link below at end of post)

I haven’t worn it for a while as, to be honest, I was always conscious of it going off and speaking randomly on it’s own.

Laughing would ensue when my wrist would catch the buttons and it would tell me the date or the time. In a loud mans voice! ☺

Doesn’t matter which hand I have it on.

Now, I’m open to tell people why I have it on if it does got off booming the information.

I can see why people have laughed or made a comment.

I don’t look visually impaired. Unless you spend time with me and pick up on other idiosyncrasies that are now part of my nature.

If I need to see the time I’ve only got my phone. Which has a big clock on the homepage if it’s clicked closed. Fair enough. If it’s open it’s so small, can’t see it. So thought this would be very useful out and about.

The RNIB shop has lots to choose from. Kids, adults and tactile watches too.
