Follow up letter.

I received my follow up letter.

I’ve got a ped (Extra small Detachment) still in my right eye.

My left eye hasn’t got one now. It’s gone!

My left is still 20/60 (with pinhole glasses)

My right eye is still 20/80 (with pinhole glasses)

There are macula changes, but this is stable.

Retinal photography shows the RPE has changes since last time photography was taken.

The RPE is a pigmented layer of cells that are located outside the retina and attached to the choroid.

The role of the RPE (Retinal Pigment Epithelium) is to nourish the retinal cells. It does this by bringing nutrients to the nearby photoreceptor cells and carrying waste products away from the cells and into the Choroid . This prevents damage from built-up waste materials.

Plan is to have urgent neuro diagnostics requested including Visual Field test and new OCT disc scan. Which I’m having tomorrow.

Eye Centre Appointment letter

So… Today I’ve received a letter from the Eye Centre to attend the Optos Clinic for the 27th May.

This is the reappointment I’ve been waiting for. As I couldn’t attend in November last year (2020) because I was ill.

It doesn’t say what tests, if any, I will have, but I know that I will have an eye test there first before seeing anybody. I haven’t been to this clinic before as far as I can remember.

I’m very interested to see what has been going on because I have changed prescription and noticed a decline in my vision since I last went to any hospital for an appointment.

Will update after I’ve been.

2 unexpected appointments

So, whilst I was ill, I received 2 appointment letters. Both for the Eye Centre Hospital again. Near to where I live.

I haven’t had my results back yet from my other 3 tests that I had some time ago. This is what I’m waiting for to see the consultant again.

These tests where.

⚫ ERG

⚫ Autofloressence

⚫ Field test

It can’t be helped, as we have had a pandemic shortly afterwards.

These appointments are for a Glaucoma Field Test and the Optics Clinic. This test hasn’t even been mentioned to me so far.

I don’t know what the Optics clinic are seeing me for. Or if that’s a test there or maybe even seeing the consultant.

These were for the 13th and 16th of November 2020.

I cancelled these due to me being ill and not being able to go.

I have now popped an update page on my site. You can find it in (Menu) at the very top of the page, or, if you can find the it by clicking the picture below.
