Blinded by the light – coping with glare

A photograph with white light brightly shining obscuring the image

I’m just going to give you a description of how light gives me problems

If I step in from outside through the day (light to dark) it takes a few seconds for my eyes to adjust so I’m temporarily what I would call blinded for a few seconds.

The transition makes me wary if I’m unfamiliar with the building as I don’t want to be tumbling down a step I can’t see 😕

Through the day, glare from the sunlight on objects, metal ones in particular, vehicles, poles, windows make me turn away and I often start turning away before they ‘catch me’.

Night time, any lights at all outside.

Sunglasses make your eyes feel ‘comfier’ even on quite a normal day when it’s not bright for anyone else.

Bit graphic but, it feels like pointy stick is being poked in your eye and if I don’t have my sunglasses on and it’s bright, I will suffer later with pains in my eye socket for a few hours upto a few days later.
